It doesn't need a driver.
It does need an owner.
Every driverless vehicle on your streets will belong to somebody. Could it be you?
Yes it will.
The rules are being written
Cybercabs are already carrying paying riders in Austin. In the near future, some will be owned by ambitious people like you.
You could say that there’s no point because you can’t buy a vehicle yet. We say the gap is your opportunity for a head start. The owners who've done their thinking will be ready on day one, while everyone else is getting surprised by the headlines.

Make lenders see a business, not a borrower
Most people who want a fleet don’t have the cash ready. You could find a personal loan… or sell a kidney. But perhaps there’s an easier way. Stay here and earn an Operator Passport, proof that you can be a capable owner and operator, so that lenders treat you as a reliable business rather than a chancer. The more knowledge and experience you can build, the better your passport and the stronger your case for lenders.
Run the numbers

Illustration only. Not financial advice and not a forecast. Note that Cybercab ownership terms, prices, insurance and network fees are yet to be published. Real results could be higher or lower, and could result in a loss. Model does not consider resale value, tax and depreciation, loan fees, and charging time during working hours.

Owner or onlooker?
We begin by making your Owner Profile. It takes just five minutes. Then you’ll know what kind of owner you'd be, what your plan should look like, and what stands between now and ready.

Start here
Never run a business like this? That’s OK; nobody has. No independent owner has run a driverless vehicle yet, so everyone starts at the same level.
Having said that, if you've ever driven for a ride app, rented out a vehicle, managed a team or simply know your local streets, you're starting closer than you think.
Paying cash, or already own a Tesla?
Your route is shorter. Answer the same ten questions and you'll skip the finance steps.

Questions owners ask
Can I buy a Cybercab yet?
Not yet. Ownership terms haven't been published, and Tesla has said it expects most Cybercabs to be in its own fleet. However, plenty of opportunity is still likely. The key is to prepare now. Those who succeed will be ready on day one.
Will it make me money?
That's the whole point of owning one. It's built to work, and to earn for its owner, even while you sleep. But nobody can guarantee a profit at this stage. Have a play with the simulator to see what really drives the numbers.
What does an owner actually do?
Makes it happen! Picks where it works, keeps it clean and charged, sorts the insurance and makes the decisions. The vehicle drives itself, but the owner runs the business.
Do you lend money?
No. We're a broker. We’ll make you more reliable and capable. When lenders begin to offer terms, we'll introduce you to options that best suit your plans. We won’t do any hard checks that affect your credit score.
What's an Operator Passport?
It's the record of you as an owner and operator, built from your Owner Profile, your level of learning and what you can show about running vehicles or a business. It can help you get finance on better terms.
Who are you?
We're Intermission Group, an independent company that finds, supports and prepares would-be Cybercab owners. We believe driverless cabs will one day be the dominant form of transport on our roads, and we're here to make sure the human side is as strong as it can be.
I'm not in a big city. Does that count?
It's not a problem. Some of the best places to run one may be outside big cities.
