A machine that works
the hours nobody wants.

Imagine an asset that goes out and finds its own customers, works both the early and late shift, never complains and never calls in sick.

The best assets never clock off

The average privately owned vehicle is parked about 95% of the time. It's one of the most expensive things most people own, and it does nothing most of the day.

A driverless vehicle flips that. Every hour it isn't parked is an hour it can earn, and the owner's job is to find the hours that pay best: the airport run at five, the bar crowd at one, the hospital shift change. If you think in apartments and storage units, you already know the rule. The asset that's used the most wins.

Parked about 95% of the time: Donald Shoup, The High Cost of Free Parking (2005).

From numbers to a plan

The simulator shows what drives the numbers. Your Owner Profile shows what you'd still need to sort out, including how you'd fund it, whether that's cash, a lender or a business you already run.

The vehicle drives. You run the show.

So is it passive income? Half right. The vehicle drives itself, but the business doesn't.

What the vehicle does

  • Drives itself, day and night
  • Finds its way to riders
  • Comes back to charge

What the owner does

  • Decides where and when it works
  • Keeps it clean, charged and insured
  • Handles the paperwork, or pays someone who will

The owners who treat it like a business will be the ones who do well from it.

Questions owners ask

Can I buy a Cybercab yet?

Not yet. Ownership terms haven't been published, and Tesla has said it expects most Cybercabs to be in its own fleet. However, plenty of opportunity is still likely. The key is to prepare now. Those who succeed will be ready on day one.

Will it make me money?

That's the whole point of owning one. It's built to work, and to earn for its owner, even while you sleep. But nobody can guarantee a profit at this stage. Have a play with the simulator to see what really drives the numbers.

What does an owner actually do?

Makes it happen! Picks where it works, keeps it clean and charged, sorts the insurance and makes the decisions. The vehicle drives itself, but the owner runs the business.

Do you lend money?

No. We're a broker. We’ll make you more reliable and capable. When lenders begin to offer terms, we'll introduce you to options that best suit your plans. We won’t do any hard checks that affect your credit score.

What's an Operator Passport?

It's the record of you as an owner and operator, built from your Owner Profile, your level of learning and what you can show about running vehicles or a business. It can help you get finance on better terms.

Who are you?

We're Intermission Group, an independent company that finds, supports and prepares would-be Cybercab owners. We believe driverless cabs will one day be the dominant form of transport on our roads, and we're here to make sure the human side is as strong as it can be.

I'm not in a big city. Does that count?

It's not a problem. Some of the best places to run one may be outside big cities.
